Find the Paleontologist in your classroom! The Fossil Dig Classroom Project has enough materials for a classroom of 30 students working in pairs. The National Science Standards are correlated to this activity. There are 15 plaster fossil bearing "rocks", each containing 4 fossils each, 15 sets of excavation tools, a Fossil Dig Teacher’s Guide, and 15 Fossil Dig Activity Guides for the Students. Students then can identify what period their fossils came from by matching them to the mini Fossil and Geologic Time Charts included. Geology is a required STEM subject.
